Vehicle Recall Index helps U.S. drivers, buyers and sellers answer two practical questions: what does this VIN say about the vehicle, and which safety recalls exist for it?
What makes it different
- Official data only. Recall records come from NHTSA's recall file, and VIN decoding from NHTSA's vPIC. Nothing is estimated or scraped from other sites.
- No sign-up, no paywall, no upsell report. The decoder and every recall page are free to use.
- Honest limits. The site never claims to know whether your specific vehicle has an unrepaired recall; it sends you to NHTSA's VIN search for that.
- Private by design. The VIN check runs in your browser. Your VIN goes to NHTSA only when you ask for the full decode, and never to this site.
Who runs it
Vehicle Recall Index is operated by KLIKX INTERACTIVE SLU (CIF B98897028), Plaça d'Hondures, 26, 46022 Valencia, España. See contact and corrections.
The site is independent and is not affiliated with NHTSA, the U.S. Department of Transportation or any vehicle manufacturer or dealer.
How content is produced
Data pages are generated from NHTSA files by a documented process (methodology, sources). Guides are written from primary sources cited on each page. No one at this site is presented as a certified mechanic, lawyer or NHTSA official, and no reviews or testimonials are published.
